I have ordered the Brown Royal Wheel Cleaner. I am going to try it on a BMW wheel that has a rough surface from the hot brake pad material, etc. that does not come off with the normal, every 2-month to 3-month car wash.

Couple of questions:

What is the ideal outdoor temperature range to have maximum effectiveness with this Cleaner?

Would warming up the Cleaner to that temperature range help, even if the wheel is colder than that?

Hi Gerard,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for purchasing our product. You will not be disappointed. Brown Royal can be used in a hot or cold climate. It is wise to spray Brown Royal on a cool wheel and let dwell for up to 2 minutes. Brown Royal is concentrated and can be diluted up to 8 times with water. But If you have heavy baked on brake dust, then I recommend diluting Brown Royal 1:1 (1 part cleaner to 1 part water) for your first use. If you clean your wheels regularly, then you can dilute it up to 8 times. Brown Royal is very concentrated and a gallon will go a long way and last you a long time. Good for you, but not for us. Lol. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks.

Joe,

I ordered your ready-to-use spray bottle. How much dilution is already in there?

Should I still dilute it for heavy baked-on brake dust? If so, what ratio?

Then after the wheels are clean, should I dilute the contents in the spray bottle? If yes, what ratio?

Thank you.

Hi Gerard,

You can still dilute the 32oz spray bottle up to 1:3. But use it full strength the first time and let it dwell about 2 minutes on cool wheels and use high pressure water to remove it. You can also go to a self serve car was and use their pressure washer for the first cleaning. That will remove it all without scrubbing the wheel. You can use a garden hose, but for long term baked on brake dust, I would recommend using a pressure washer.
Have a Happy New year.
